When Life push’s you back push forward harder!
Oh my gosh, I hate windy days! Trying to walk the dog into the wind, everything comes against me—hair in my face, dog poo bags flying—making progress exhausting. This was precisely my experience this morning on my usual daily walk along the picturesque beach with my bouncy, enthusiastic labradoodle, Holly. She, with her boundless energy and uncontainable joy, seemed to revel in the chaos of the wind, racing ahead as if the gusts were mere invitations to play, while I struggled to reach my destination. The only one enjoying it was the dog! Yet, I’ve learned that in these moments of struggle, God speaks to me the loudest.
As I pushed against the strong wind trying to push me back, it reminded me of life’s seasons when it feels like we’re walking into the wind. Everything seems against us, and it’s tough! In that moment, I was reminded that God perceives life differently than we do; adversity serves a purpose. He allows us to face challenges out of love, intending to strengthen and mold us. This process builds our resilience, enabling us to weather life’s storms and guide us from the wilderness towards the promises He has in store for us.
When we choose to push harder against life’s challenges, instead of retreating to comfort, we grow stronger and move closer to our breakthrough. Each gust of wind we face symbolizes the obstacles and trials that life throws our way, and by resisting the urge to withdraw, we not only fortify our character but also inch closer to our significant breakthroughs. If we persevere, we’ll eventually experience the blessing of walking with the wind at our backs, refreshed by His presence.
In a world that encourages us to give up when things get tough, God calls us into deep waters, through the valley, and into the fire. His ways are higher than ours, and if we don’t give up, He will reward us: “Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9 WEBBE.
If you’re in a season of walking into the wind, don’t give up—push forward harder. Press into God through daily prayer, declare His words and promises over your life, thank Him in faith for the answers to prayer that are coming, and praise Him with all you have. Your ‘one day’ will come when the wind is behind you, carrying you forward with ease!
Are you praying and waiting for the husband God has for you? Does it feel delayed? Are you in a season of singleness where it just feels that the wind is pushing you back constantly?
