““Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7 NLT
As Christian women navigating the journey of faith, we often find ourselves facing seasons of waiting and longing, especially when it comes to matters close to our hearts, such as finding a life partner. I'm not sure why we have to keep on asking sometimes, but I know that God has a reason for it and we have to trust Him in all things. In my own season of waiting for God to answer my prayer for a husband, it was full of frustration and pain in the delay, however, now I look back I can see what the waiting developed in me, and when I did ask my husband why it took so long he clearly replied, 'If we had met before I wouldn't have been ready to be a husband to you!'
The words of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew remind us of the importance of persistent prayer during these seasons: “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” Not just for bringing the miracles to pass but what it creates in us. God is the author of our lives and we may never know the reason for the wait but we can be sure that there is a reason and Gods plan is perfect.
The Art of Waiting with Faith and Resilience
Waiting is never easy, especially when our desires seem distant or unattainable and Christian encouragement when waiting for a husband is not always easy. The journey of waiting can be filled with uncertainties, doubts, and moments of despair. However, as Christian women, we are called to anchor our faith in the promises of God and trust in His perfect timing. The process of waiting is not passive but rather an opportunity for growth, self-discovery, and deepening our relationship with God. I believe God makes us continue asking because He wants to test how much we really want it. I felt this testing, for years my prayers were an occasional outpouring to God in my loneliness, but as I got closer to my breakthrough I had grown confident in hope and my sadness had turned to joy as I began to realise that my need for a husband wasn't just about me but was about God and His plans on this earth. My desire shifted from my own will but for Gods will to be done in my life, and it was then that I wanted it more because I wanted to serve God with my life and became more relentless in prayer.
In the times of waiting, it is crucial to cultivate a spirit of resilience and unwavering faith. Persistent prayer is not merely a repetition of words but a heartfelt conversation with the Divine. It is a sacred act of surrendering our desires, fears, and hopes at the feet of God and entrusting Him with our future. Through prayer, we and seeking God we can allow Him to mold and shape our hearts where faith blossoms, and hope thrives even in the midst of uncertainty, and ultimately His will can be done through us and our obedience.

Faith. Christianity. Praying for a husband. Waiting. Persistent prayer. These are not just words but pillars that uphold our journey of faith as Christian women, guiding us through the seasons of waiting and leading us closer to the heart of God.
Day in day out I brought my prayer to God. For me I found prayer walks helped with my dog. I walked and talked to God, prayed and cried out. I knelt down in the woods where no one was around and I prayed my heart out, in fact even if someone was around I wouldn't have cared as I wanted this so bad. Find a way that works for you, but whatever you do, do it persistently, show God that you are ready for this blessing in your life allow this season to shape you and strengthen you into the warrior that God created you to be. Be prepared to do what it takes....and do whatever it takes as God and all He has for you is worth, I can tell you!
